Movies, Cinema and People...

I have been searching for some activities or some new things to do in this Summer.

Then I decided to watch some movies in the free time. Obviously an Indian mind is very much into movies and stuff...
I saw many movies like Never Back Down, The Ron Clark Story, Yeh Saali Zindagi, The Whole Nine Yards and Eat Pray Love in last week.

Suddenly I remembered...
4 years back when I was in Pune for my AIEEE exams, I saw shooting of this movie called A Mighty Heart- starring Angelina Jolie.

Since then I was waiting to see that movie and finally got to see it 2 days back.
The movie is based on true events in the life of American Journalist Daniel Pearl...and the consequences faced by his wife after he got kidnapped in Pakistan...

The movie was amazing...a true Eye-Opener...

I wonder how Hollywood Movie-makers dare to choose such a subject to make a movie on.
This is something which we all should learn from them.
International audience are very matured and open hearted to welcome any kind of movie on any possible subject, that’s why they can experiment in their movies.

In earlier days, Indian movies showed a lot of Indian culture and our rural conditions...Which helped our movies to get some recognition all around the world.
But nowadays almost all Indian movies have lost their touch and most of them are copied from English Movies.
Indian film makers are very talented and they can make brilliant cinema that the whole world will appreciate, but they are afraid to experiment because Majority Indian Audience wants to see only Entertainment, Glamour & So called “Stars” in the movie.
We have to take some steps in order to obtain some Quality in our movies and in our cinema going culture.
One should make movies in order to show people what is necessary for the society and one should go to the theatres and expect a nice movie which is made to make difference rather than some silly Hero dancing in weird clothes with 60 dancers in the background.

Many people think that meaningful cinema can’t be entertaining.
Well, we have hundreds of such movies which are entertaining yet meaningful and meant for a purpose like Rang De Basanti, Paa, Taare Zameen Par, A Wednesday and many more...

Yes, you are right...all these thoughts were raised in my mind just by watching a Movie.
Just imagine what a movie can do in one’s life...and leaves a big impact...
On the leaving note...I think, entertaining movies must be there but they shouldn’t be over-dosed to the people and all the leading film makers and the audience should also grow up and look around at the real world.

Cheers

Advait..
